Among the many charitable and devotional works of the Woman Clothed with the Sun Lay Dominican Chapter, its members recognize their primary common apostolate as encouraging the Church in every way possible to study assiduously all elements of the doctrine of Mary Mediatrix of All Graces, in hopeful and prayerful anticipation of a papal dogmatic definition of her role by that title, in which she is believed to be advocating for all people that they receive the graces earned by her Divine Son on Calvary. Her own suffering, experienced through her participation in Her Son’s sorrowful Passion on Calvary, situates her uniquely for this mission, and we lend our wholehearted support as Holy Mother Church wisely proceeds deliberately and carefully in her assessment of this statement.
We encourage the use of the sacramental sign of the Purity Medal to promote Marian devotion and to encourage interest in supporting the completion of this particular doctrinal assessment. Others like us who yearn for the fulfillment of this process feel confident, as we do, that in these times and through this title, Jesus Christ is sending His Mother to help open the hearts of men to the Holy Spirit, Who has been sent to us “to re-establish all things in Christ.” We stand in filial obedience to the Successor of St. Peter as we ask him to accomplish all this is necessary to ascertain as expediently as possible, if from the Chair of Peter, he can proclaim this doctrine by dogmatic definition.
Our chapter supports the Confraternity, whose mission is to praise and honor the Blessed Virgin Mary and to secure her patronage by the recitation of the Rosary for the mutual spiritual benefit of all the members throughout the world.
